HelloZ
Hi friendZ! Here we are again - your inbox’s espresso shot: strong, occasionally bitter, but always worth the sip.
Here’s a question for you: What, if anything, do you use ChatGPT for? I feel like I don’t use it enough (at all) and I’m certainly (definitely) missing ways to make my life easier. In my educational upbringing, plagiarism and lack of original thought and ideas was blasphemy. It’s like I’m absolutely blocked from using it for any sort of writing. However, I am hearing all of these other ways to use it and I’m just curious: in what ways do you use ChatGPT?
Okay, we all got things to do, so LFG!

Mabel’s Labels: I absolutely love these guys for all-things back to school, sports and summer months. I put these labels + accessories everywhere: clothes, shoes, school supplies, sports gear, and even water bottles. The biggest bang for your buck is their Sleepaway Camp Label Pack.
Tea Forte: If you havne’t tried this tea brand, then you’re not doing it right. Tea Forte is my go-to hostess gift because of the adorable presentation and creative tea bags themselves. This Teas in the Garden Advent Duo set is one of my favorites!
NewZ & ShowZ
After a stellar debut hosting this year’s award show, comedian and actress Nikki Glaser will return to host the 83RD Annual Golden Globes, January 2026 on CBS
“Ted Lasso” has been renewed for a fourth season by Apple TV+, with Jason Sudeikis reprising his role as Coach Ted Lasso. “’Ted Lasso’ has been nothing short of a juggernaut, inspiring a passionate fanbase all over the world, and delivering endless joy and laughter, all while spreading kindness, compassion and unwavering belief,” said Matt Cherniss, Head of Programming for Apple TV+
Disney+ handed an early season three renewal for “Percy Jackson and the Olympians.” The series, based on Rick Riordan series The Titan’s Curse, just finished production on season two.
The MTV Movie & TV Awards show, which didn’t take place last year, won’t happen in 2025, either. It’s not the only marquee music event shelved by Paramount Global as the company prepares to merge with Skydance Media – the MTV Europe Music Awards and the CMT Music Awards have also been put on ice.
Answering your burning questions
Hopefully you had a chance to read last week’s post titled “SEO is Dead. (Right?)” I had the following question come about and I want to give it a proper, well-thought out answer.
ZlataThoughts:
Great question and to be completely honest, I’m wondering how this will affect pitching too! Good quality pitching is always going to be important, and like you said, editors and writers are still searching their inboxes — so yes, in that way, keywords still matter. I think the goal for pitching is the same as it always was: Stand out and get coverage. But now, with different context. Instead of competing against a crowded inbox, now you're also competing against AI. So if a pitch sounds like AI could have written it, an editor might pass. Incorporating the human element is going to keep your pitches interesting and relevant. Hot takes, unique POVs, anything proprietary you can lean on. But again, hasn't that been the goal along??
That said, I think other things are going to evolve more dramatically as AI mode goes mainstream. IMO it's a bit too early to say exactly how that will shake out, but here are some guesses:
Like the post discusses, the way we structure content will shift. Just like we optimized for SEO, we’ll now need to consider structured data to ensure AI recognizes and prioritizes coverage—what that looks like is TBD. We'll know more as AI Mode gains users and popularity. I think we can expect it to hit headlines, content format (bullet points, numbered lists, segmented sections, etc.), and story framing. This will of course have to balanced with proprietary details/unique POV that AI can't easily summarize and rip off. We want to get noticed, not robbed. But the point is knowing editors will be thinking about all of this, publicists need to be thinking about it too.
With fewer backlinks and less keyword emphasis driving clicks and value, I think owned media will see some renewed focus. I think a lot of strategies will see expanded distribution beyond search, putting more effort into things like newsletters, social, direct media partnerships.
This one's kind of a no brainer but I think relationships will become even more important. And, learning how editors want to be pitched and what they find valuable will give you a much better shot.
But what do I know!? We're in the throes of it right now and it's hard to predict what happens next. I think this next year is going to be a learning curve for us all!
Thoughts?

I use AI for a multitude of projects and tasks. Here are a few:
- Research: ask it to provide suggestions of journalists based on a topic, or a list of substacks, or even influencers/creators. Generally, the more specific you are in your request, the better results. You can also ask it to provide articles on a certain subject to gain an understanding of who's covered the topic and in what ways.
- Writing: ask it to create 5-7 possible headlines for a blog post or article, that incorporate SEO best practices, etc; or, 3-5 subject lines for an email/pitch that are professional/casual/news-worthy, etc. Again, the more specific and detailed you are in your request, the better the result will be. I will weave together certain aspects of different headlines/sub lines to create one that I feel is perfect.
- Trends: ask it to share what the latest trends are in a certain industry or subject-matter. (this prob falls under research, lol)
- Ideas: i've asked it to come up with ideas for events, product launches, etc. -- these tend to be great thought-starters and are, in a way, like brainstorm sessions for a sole practitioner.
As with anything AI-generated, you must verify for accuracy. I've had it give me incorrect information (like, a journo no longer being at a certain pub; or facts about a product not being right), but that's to be expected and part of what makes the human element vital.
Have fun with it!
I'm famous! Jkjk Thanks Z! I mostly use ChatGPT to try to condense my pitch when I'm having trouble cutting down on copy. It of course doesn't know the most salient points the brand wants to highlight so I use it as a guide and not the actual copy. I also use it to do the same with headlines or generate headlines for my pitches if I'm having a mental block. I know there are more ways that I can leverage it, but those uses seem like the safest way to avoid any plagiarism/ethical issues at this point for me as I'm learning. Have a great week & Happy St. Paddy's to all that observe!
