Here we are trying to fight our kids on limiting screen time on devices, and here X (are we calling it that yet?) is launching a TV app, the company announced on Tuesday. “X is changing everything,” posted X CEO Linda Yaccarino. “Soon we’ll bring real-time, engaging content to your smart TVs with the X TV App. … We’re still building it,” Yaccarino offered a list of what to expect, including a trending video algorithm; AI-powered topics that will organize videos by subject; a cross-device experience; and enhanced video search. It’s all “coming soon to most smart TVs,” promised Yaccarino. Oh, Yipppppeeeee!!!!
Sissy Spacek has signed on for a recurring role opposite Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate in FX’s “Dying for Sex.” The limited series is based on the hit podcast of the same name.
Season nine of “Below Deck Mediterranean” sets sail Monday, June 3 at 9p on Bravo. Capt. Sandy Yawn is joined by Chief Stew Aesha Scott, who returns to the Med where her yachting career began.
Netflix received international rights to BBC Three’s TV adaptation of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, the YA novel by Holly Jackson, who serves as an executive producer on the series. Emma Myers (“Wednesday”) stars as a young woman investigating the death of a schoolgirl five years earlier.
If you haven’t yet seen this goldmine of a show, “Suits” will make its broadcast television debut on MyNetwork TV this fall, where it will be offered on free for the first time.
Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott help struggling property investors in new HGTV series “Backed By The Bros,” premiering Wednesday, June 5 at 9pm. Here’s a fun story: Last year while trick or treating around the neighborhood on Halloween, I happened to see two guys standing in front of a house (everyone is just out and about in town, you know?). One was dressed in a suit and the other was dressed as a construction worker and they both looked alike AND looked like the Property Brothers honestly. I yelled out “Great costumes! You guys are Property Brothers, right?” They laughed out loud at how accurate my observation was but told me they were NOT dressed up, but rather just getting home from work. LOLZ.
