Affiliate ABZs
Something I don’t talk about enough: Affiliate marketing is not a replacement for PR. It’s a supplement! So let’s take our vitamins and talk about it. As PR proZ, we know the grind. You’re busting ass to get coverage (which, bt dubbs is NOT guaranteed!).
You make all the right connections, keeping proverbial fires warm, and just doing whatever the hell you can to nurture your brand/editorial relationships, finding a spot for your clients in the constant churn of editorial production. When you do it right, you earn the reward of quality coverage and a blossoming brand reputation. The hustle is real, but so are the gains. We know this.
WELLLLLL with affiliate marketing, it’s much of the same, except now you have a direct revenue stream to tie to your efforts. Just like you’re scouting coverage, you can scout high-value affiliate partners. Oh, and by the way, you can do this while simultaneously leveraging your PR network and using your affiliate links there as well. You see how this is all connected? Later this week I’m diving into a few of the basic pillars of a good affiliate strategy. Stay tuned for that!
