HelloZ
How is it already Wednesday night though, really? A couple of snow days, delayed openings, and a cold that won’t go away later - and it’s the middle of the week. Insanity!
I was hoping that after last week’s snooze fest, the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s second reunion episode would give us some action. Sadly, I’m still not seeing Teresa-style table-flipping energy that I’ve grown to know and love from the Housewives Franchise. Here’s hoping that next week’s final episode will appeal to the masses.
[Insert all the information about how busy I am and I’m sure you are and how we can barely keep our heads on straight.]
Let’s go!
NewZ and ShowZ
If you’ve yet to see a recap on the award shows this week, allow me to be of service. Anthony Anderson hosted the 75th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Viewers saw a standing ovation early on for presenter Christina Applegate, who won over the audience with jokes about multiple sclerosis, which she suffers from, and her “body not by Ozempic.” For a full list of winners, go here.
Chelsea Handler hosted The Critics Choice Awards Sunday night. The biggest TV winners of the night included “Succession,” which won for top drama, actor (Kieran Culkin) and actress (Sarah Snook); “The Bear,” with trophies for best comedy, actor (Jeremy Allen White), actress (Ayo Edebiri), and supporting actor (Ebon Moss-Bachrach); and “Beef,” for best limited series, actor (Steven Yuen), actress (Ali Wong) and supporting actress (Maria Bello). “Beef” was an exceptional depiction of what could very much be the reality of a mom who hasn’t had her morning coffee.
Reelz ordered 90 more episodes of “On Patrol: Live,” extending the run of the docuseries for a third season, with new episodes through January 2025. In 2023, the show helped make REELZ the most-watched cable entertainment network in the A25-54 year-old demo on Fridays and Saturdays from 9pm to midnight. If you remember, this is like “LIVE PD” from about 8 years back. I’m still very peeved that took it off the air. #politics
ID’s “Death by Fame” returns Monday, January 22 at 9pm. The true crime series explores more shocking stories behind the rise, fall and murder of promising Hollywood stars.
“Oppenheimer” starts streaming Friday, February 16 on Peacock. Other Christopher Nolan-directed films, including “Batman Begins,” “The Dark Knight,” “The Dark Knight Rises Dunkirk,” “Inception” and “Memento,” begin streaming February 1.
All three seasons of yes Studios’ “Shtisel” is being made available on Amazon Prime Video in the US, with season one dropping yesterday. The series about a family living in Jerusalem previously aired on Netflix.
Getting high [on a trampoline] is an Olympic sport, and maybe that’s the tie-in for Snoop Dogg, who has been tapped to serve as Special Correspondent for NBC’s coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics.” The Games begin July 26 on NBC and Peacock.
