OscarZ, NewZ and FunnieZ Are Here
Vol 76. SEND IT TO DARRELL!
Hello and Happy Monday to everyone except daylight savings time. I actually started writing this last Friday, but then my day/week/life happened harder, and the next thing I knew, it was Monday morning with one hour lost no less. So hi, hello, and welcome to your week! I am glad YOU’RE HERE.
I have some Oscars tidbits, a few story reminderZ — thank you for all the pitches! Keep ‘em coming! — a quick newZ roundup, and funnieZ to get your week going. Have the best week EVER.
A new round of articles was published over the last few weeks. Catch up with them all below! Thanks to EVERYONE who pitched me — I couldn’t do this without all your great products, services and recommendations.
This month, I’m working on another round! Catch all my pitching oppZ here. And be sure to subscribe, so you get them when I do!
Everything Everywhere All at Once won 7 of the 11 Oscars it was nominated for, the most of any film, including best picture, best director, best actress and best original screenplay. With her best actress award, Michelle Yeoh became the first Asian woman to win.
Jamie Lee Curtis won best supporting actress for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once.
Speaking of snubs: Despite being nominated for 30 awards between them, Elvis, The Fabelmans, Banshees of Inisherin, and Tar went home empty-handed.
Brendan Fraser won best actor for his role in The Whale.
And Hugh Grant and Ashley Graham handily won for most awkward interview of the night.
Shrinking grows. The new dramedy featuring Harrison Ford and Jason Segal was renewed for Season 2 at Apple TV+.
Not the weekend update I want to see. 20 SNL post-production editors go on strike starting April 1 after failing to reach an agreement with NBCUniversal over pay and benefits.
Go shawty! Paramount+ has greenlit Vice City from 50 Cent, which follows three friends’ return to Miami after dishonorable discharges from the military who go on to form a heist crew.
The best part of today so far.
