HelloZ
It’s a new week, and that means we’ve got new work to work! We got jobZ. We got jokes. We got newZ. We got pitcheZ. As Adam Levine’s publicist said yesterday, ohhhh shit here we go.
A Quick Re-Intro To What the Hell I Do
In the few months we’ve been together here on Substack, I’ve had the chance to get my ZlataPR brand out there in a new and exciting way. And it’s been amazing. Thank you ALL for being part of it! But as I’ve leaned into content and affiliate education here, I realized I have not done the greatest job of explaining how I’ve learned all this stuff. Spoiler: it’s because I DO all this stuff! So for those who may not know, I thought it might be a good time for some (re)introductions to ZlataPR services.
Public Relations: I started ZlataPR 12 years ago, doing traditional PR and brand work. I work in brand launches, putting together PR and marketing messaging, producing press materials, and pitching my amazing clients and their products and services. In addition to working independently, I also work as a specialist for agencies, helping them offer extra services under their roof.
Consulting and Professional Education: Today I still do a lot of this kind of PR work, but I also do a lot of consulting, teaching agencies and professionals how to do what I do so they can do more for their clients. I work in small group settings for the most part, although sometimes I get bigger teams.
Affiliate Marketing: Yep! I walk the walk I’m out here preaching. I do a lot of affiliate setup, which you already know is the crux of all affiliate success, and I also help manage affiliate programs. When I talk about the kinds of revenue streams you can create with affiliate marketing, it’s because I’ve seen it firsthand. In terms of setup: I’m an agency partner to ShareASale, Impact, Rakuten and Refersion, and I’m able to offer incentives for each of the platforms. Most importantly: I do not set up like a ‘regular setup’. I’ve got some tricks up my sleeve and have learned a ton over the last 7 years. I like to make sure brands are setup properly and efficiently from the beginning and that the setup aligns with their goals. So yes, there are different ways to go about setting up on an affiliate platform.
Content Strategy & Writing: Sometimes my PR work spills into more traditional marketing efforts and content-focused work. These kinds of projects include press materials, blogs, branded campaigns and more. In addition to this kind of writing, I am also an affiliate editor and a freelance contributing writer for several national publications, including CafeMom, BYRDIE, Clean Plates, LittleThings, Mom.com and others.

For Paid SubscriberZ (still on sale!)
Ask Z Anything: Don’t forget: My AZA is scheduled for Monday, October 3 at 1:00 p.m. EST. It’s exclusively for annual subscribers and will cover all things affiliate marketing and PR. I’m still running my 20% sale—great time to get access!
I had a great call this week with some of my contacts at Refersion. I got my hands on some new information about their Amazon collab program, and some of their game-changing tools and features. I’m really talking GAME-CHANGING. I’ll be breaking it down for you in this week’s affiliate ABZs. Stay tuned for that! And if you’re not yet a subscriber, smash that 20% button.

Media AffairZ
Group chat comes to Facebook. Because we all need a little more chaos and gossip, “Community Chats” are coming to Messenger and Facebook Groups.
TikTok tries to Be Real. TikTok is launching a new feature called TikTok Now designed to bring spontaneity to the platform, modeled after the increasingly popular app BeReal. TikTok will prompt users to capture a candid daily video or photo in the moment they’re in using both the front and back cameras. I will not be participating.
Emojis. Do you love Google but hate that they don’t have a jellyfish emoji? Holy shit ME TOO! Well guess what guys—the wait is over. Google has published its version of 31 new emojis, which also include a pink heart and a pushing hand. You’ll see them on Android by end of year and next year on other Google products.
Tudum, anyone? On September 24, Netflix launches Tudum, a virtual stage of global stars and creators who will announce Netflix news and exclusives and deliver first looks at upcoming projects—including peeks at hits like The Crown and Brigerton—with 5 shows from around the world. And here I thought it was just the Law & Order sound. (It’s pronounced “Tuh-doom” if you’re wondering.)
NewZ to AmuZe
I call this one Even Rich People Steal If You Let Them. After citing shoplifting woes and losses, Wegman's has shut down its self-checkout app.
On the other side of town, Walmart is launching virtual try-on technology. The feature is called “Be Your Own Model,” and it is supposed to deliver a realistic try-on experience. We are literally in the future now.
This love has taken control of Adam Levine and plastered him all over Page Six. He has allegedly stepped out on his supermodel wife with an IG model mistress—which, okay nobody is surprised at this but THERE’S MOOOORE. He also asked her (THE MISTRESS!) if she’d be okay with him naming his third child her name and girly has receipts. 💀 Best baby naming drama in a while, honestly.
In feel-good news your children will appreciate: A community in Utah is trying to build the world’s largest blanket fort.

It’s laugh o’clock, ladies and gentlemen.
