HelloZ
I heard that Love is Blind is coming back to Netflix on October 2 and I’m already anticipating the sleep I’ll lose because of it. For some reason, it’s the only show my husband doesn’t fall asleep to and the one we end up binging until the wee hours. It’s not healthy. Send help, please.
Regarding affiliate marketing, there remains to be a lot of chitty chatter about what the better platform is for a brand to use. I reserve my expert opinion following a healthy conversation with a prospective client. I ask a variety of questions surrounding their goals and KPIs, how they want to handle influencers/content creators, and what their growth trajectory is. From there, I’ll recommend from the following: ShareASale, AWIN, or Impact.
YES - ShareASale. I’ve talked about the difference between ShareASale and Impact’s comparable “new” Startr option available to brands. The structure is setup the same: 20% commission of an affiliate’s commission and $30 per month minimum requirement. However, and this is important: this package does not come with a prospecting tool for you to use unless you are an agency partner. As such, depending on my conversations with brands in how they will be signing up/who will be managing, it’s of no surprise that ShareASale may be the better fit. After all, what’s the point of an affiliate program if you cannot prospect and build your ‘digital sales team’?
Today’s Affiliate AtoZ is dedicated to all of the new updates that Impact unveiled and what it means for PR affiliates. If you’re using Impact now, or plan to in the future, it’s a good one to review!
NewZ and ShowZ
“Schitt’s Creek” stars Eugene and Dan Levy kicked off the 76th Annual Emmys on Sunday night talking about the night’s nominees. “I know some of you might be expecting us to make a joke about whether ‘The Bear’ is a comedy,” Eugene said about the Best Comedy nominee, “but in true spirit of ‘The Bear’ we will not be making any jokes.” For a full list of winners, click here.
NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” will have three new cast members when its 50th season premieres on September 28: Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim and Jane Wickline have joined as featured players. Punkie Johnson, Molly Kearney and Chloe Troast will not be back.
“Dexter: Original Sin” premieres Friday, December 13 on streaming and on demand for Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME plan, prior to its December 15 US on-air debut.
There’s a “Melrose Place” revival in the works, and “Everyone has agreed to do it,” said Daphne Zuniga as the cast reunited on Saturday for 90s Con Florida. "It is in talks. Business affairs and lawyers and all those types are talking about it, and they do want to do it." The soapy “Beverly Hill, 90210” spinoff ran from 1992 to 1999.
Former talk show host Wendy Williams has amended her lawsuit against Lifetime parent A+E Networks concerning their documentary chronicling her deteriorating mental and physical state, and is now looking for all profits from the project to fund her medical care, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The documentary aired on Lifetime in February, and in the amended complaint, filed September 16 in New York County Supreme Court, Williams says she received just $82,000 (“a paltry sum”) for her participation in the project. Williams has come out against the documentary – and even tried to stop it from airing – saying it depicts her as a laughingstock and a drunkard, responsible for her own downward spiral.
