HelloZ
Today’s Harvest Fest at my son’s school and guess who is a Chair for the committee? That’s right: yours truly. As part of Harvest Fest, parents can volunteer to design a pumpkin and then these pumpkins are raffled off. Every year, I’m in AWE of what these families create and I thought you’d get a kick out of seeing them, too.
I feel grateful for the opportunity to be a part of these young elementary school years since I remember I was often alone while my parents worked long hours in the city. That was life back then and if you were a kid who had their parents around all the time, you were the anomaly. Present day: lots of people work from home and have a flexible schedule and it’s something I definitely don’t take for granted!
Enough with the sap!

Amazon employees who don’t wish to comply with the company’s 5-days-a week-in-the- office policy, set to take effect in January, can quit, said AWS CEO Matt Garman during a meeting last week. "If there are people who just don't work well in that environment and don't want to, that's okay, there are other companies around," said Garman, adding, “I don't mean that in a bad way. “We want to be in an environment where we're working together." Garmin went on to say that the witch’s potion labeled “Another Pandemic” they found in the 4th floor supply closet has been properly disposed of, adding “Nice try, guys!”
Netflix has ordered “Jerry Springer: Fights, Camera, Action,” a documentary charting the rise of Springer’s outrageous syndicated talk show. The two-parter drops Tuesday, January 7. “Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!” Brings me back to sick days in elementary school. Might watch this while eating Campbell’s Chicken Soup and saltines.
NBC will broadcast a special episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on November 17, following its broadcast of “Sunday Night Football.” Slated to appear are Jon Hamm, Lindsay Lohan and Pharrell. I will never NOT know a guest on a late night talk show. However, throw up The People’s Choice Awards and I’m at a loss.
In the 2024 election cycle through the end of August, advertisers who spent at least $5,000 on Google and Meta bought $619 million in political ads, with at least $248 million focused on the presidential race, according to a new report from the Wesleyan Media Project, the Brennan Center and OpenSecrets. Additional findings include:
Of spenders on Meta and Google known to advertise in support of a party, spending in favor of Democrats was more than three times the amount of spending for Republicans. (Some Republican-aligned spending may have migrated to other platforms not included in this analysis, in part due to lack of public data.)
Among presidential candidates, $182 million was spent for Kamala Harris and $45 million for Donald Trump.
Almost half the total, $281 million, came from spenders that may hide some or all of their donors.

Can’t get enough!

GRWM to Break Down Influencer and Affiliate Marketing
In case you’ve been living under literal rocks and hadn’t noticed: Influencer marketing is no longer niche. We are fully mainstream, babe. And you know why? Because ROI.
Social media is a modern marketplace. Instagram (hello, 2 billion monthly active users!), TikTok (1 billion), and YouTube (1.7 billion) are content platforms, yes, but they are also popular shopping centers. And in that sense, influencers and affiliates are shopkeepers, welcoming the public to stop by for a look around. Influencers and affiliates function a little differently from each other, although those lines are starting to blur.
Let’s break it down, shall we?
