HelloZ
Well that solar eclipse was a hoot and a holler, huh? So much fun to have consumed an incessant amount of information beforehand, including both scientific facts and conspiracy theories. In the end, we all saw the eclipse (right?) and went right back to living our routine lives (right?). Till the next news cycle, friends!
Last week, I touched on some of my top tips for succeeding in the evolving world of affiliate marketing, and this week, we’re talking a little more directly about the industry itself — and specifically, affiliate industry terminology. I recently came across a great little affiliate ecosystem map from MartechRecord (Holla if you’d like a copy of the map!) that showed the big players in networks, analytics, tools, tracking, content and more, and it got me thinking that a glossary post of sorts might be in order.
Soooo, today’s post is just that! A reference guide of some of the who’s and what’s of the industry. Knowing what all these things are/do and how they can help you/your clients will make you look like the pro you are and level up your affiliate programs, making you and said clients $ for years to come.
As a paid subscriber, this list is yours to keep! If you’re brand new to affiliate, the glossary will give you some foundational vocab to help you feel your way around and start to know what you’re talking about. At a minimum, you’ll know what everyone ELSE is talking about!
And if you’re already in the deep end and have clients rolling with affiliate (or close to it), save the list as an education resource for them, helping them understand not only the context of all the things you work on for them, but also the importance of it all.
As always, if you’re in either of those scenarios, I am here to help! Ask me anything — about this post or otherwise. Bookmark the page, study it as needed, and let me know if I missed any!
But first … NewZ and ShowZ + FunnieZ. Ready? Let’s do it!

What’s even happening out there?
How can I get media passes to this?! BravoCon will return to Caesars Forum in Las Vegas on November 14-16, 2025. (Not a typo - they’re skipping 2024.) The fan convention is taking a year off after uniting 27,000 fans with more than 160 “Bravolebrities” at the 2023 event, also held at Caesars Forum. In the interim, Bravo said fans can satisfy their Bravo cravings with an interactive event -- “Watch Party by Bravo,” – set to launch in the spring in New York and Los Angeles, where fans can experience advance screenings and exclusive sneak peeks of the network’s shows. Additional details are expected in the coming weeks.
ABC and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said the 97th Oscars will be held on March 2, 2025. The ceremony will once again begin an hour earlier than usual – 7pm – from the Dolby Theater at Ovation in Hollywood.
It appears that the series finale of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” did pretty, pretty good, reaching 1.1 million viewers across HBO and Max last Sunday, capping comedian Larry David’s 24-year and 12 season run. What’d you think of the finale??
Season three of Netflix’s “Selling the OC” kicks off Friday, May 3. Same cast, new drama.
Where were you when you heard OJ Simpson was “not guilty?” I remember I was in 6th grade in Mr. Miller’s class. He had rolled in the television (remember those things?) and we watched as the decision was announced. I think it’s sort of our “Where were you when JFK was shot?” moment. Anyway RIP to OJ.
WE tv has greenlit “Tia Mowry: My Next Chapter,” a docuseries that dives head-first into the post-divorce, new-lease-on-life universe of actress, producer, author and entrepreneur Tia Mowry. So basically I can probably also get a show on WE TV?
Okkkkkkkkk! A reboot of 90’s prime-time soap “Melrose Place” is reportedly in development at CBS Studios, with former stars Heather Locklear, Laura Leighton and Daphne Zuniga on board. The reboot picks up years after the original Darren Star series and is currently being shopped to streamers and networks, according to Deadline.com.
Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Dubai” returns for season two on June 2 at 9pm. Beginning June 11, the series will move to its regular timeslot on Tuesdays at 9pm. Episodes will stream the next day on Peacock. The season two cast includes returning housewives Chanel Ayan, Caroline Brooks, Sara Al Madani, Lesa Milan, Caroline Stanbury and new housewife Taleen Marie.
