HelloZ
Today, we’re getting back to basics. Taking it back to the old school. Square 1. Ground 0. Yes, today we’re talking about the partnership between public relations and affiliate marketing, and looking at how they should work together. If you’re a publicist new to affiliate marketing or just looking to stay sharp and learn from someone else in the biz, today’s post is for you! I’m going to talk through how I do things — both as a publicist myself and as an affiliate consultant! — and what high-functioning partnerships look like.
But first, some entertainment in the form of NewZ and FunnieZ.
HERE WE GOOOOOO.
NewZ and ShowZ
The fourth season of Netflix’s “Emily in Paris” will debut in two parts. Part one drops August 15, and part two on September 12, with some scenes shot in Rome. “Expect new characters, a lot more drama, romance, and a whole new language to try and master,” teased series creator Darren Star.
Because we’re thirsty for more. These shows are renewed for another season: ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” will be back for a 33rd season, “ “The Bachelor” for a 29th; “What Would You Do?” for a 17th; “Shark Tank” for a 16th; “American Idol” for an eighth on ABC (and 23rd overall); “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” for a fifth; and “Celebrity Jeopardy!” for a third.
The woman depicted as a stalker in Netflix’s sleeper hit “Baby Reindeer” came out swinging in an interview with Piers Morgan on Thursday. Scottish lawyer Fiona Harvey (Martha in the series) said the show was a “work of fiction,” and had led to death threats. “It’s been absolutely horrendous,” she told Morgan, claiming that rather than the thousands of emails her character sent to series creator/comedian/bartender Richard Gadd as depicted in the show, in fact she had just sent him some “jokey banter emails.” Netflix has said the drama is a true story, and that it took “every reasonable precaution in disguising the real-life identities of the people involved.”
Season three of “The Bear” kicks off Thursday, June 27 on FX on Hulu.
Hulu’s new true crime series “Mastermind: To Think Like A Killer” will premiere Thursday, July 11.
Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, 20 years after their reality show “The Simple Life” bit the dust, are reportedly ready to pair up again. In a joint posting with Richie and the streamer on Instagram, they wrote: “New Era. Same Besties. Coming Soon to Peacock.” Seems a new reality show is coming to Peacock.
